The new logistics center in Taulov is strategically located in a triangular area, and will become a hub for distribution west of Storebælt and at the same time it is centrally located for the increasing traffic in Europe. The logistics center is built to handle the e-commerce of the future and especially the increase of the number of parcels. Just like at the logistics center in Greve, sustainability was thought of when building the logistics center in Taulov, which is heated by an air-to-water heating system, among other things.
We want to be the customers' first choice, which is why we are constantly working to develop new, good solutions for our customers and recipients.
Per Buus, sales director for Bring in Danmark.
- That we invest in two new logistics centers is based on the fact that more online shops and e-commerce customers choose Bring. We now handle a record number of parcels in Denmark and we are expecting a sharp increase in growth in the coming years. We want to be the customers' first choice, which is why we are constantly working to develop new, good solutions for our customers and recipients - this also requires a good infrastructure, says Per Buus.
The logistics center of the future
Although the new logistics center has fewer square meters than in Kolding, we are using the capacity much better and even smarter. The sorting plant makes it possible for us to, among other things, offer your customers more choices during the parcel’s journey. At the same time, the plant can sort the parcels based on geo-coordinates, which optimizes our routes so that we can deliver even more sustainably to your customers.
Should there be a need for more capacity in the future, we have good possibilities to expand the terminal even further.
However, it is not only the terminal that is equipped for the future. With space for 130 employees, the new facilities make it possible for us to soon expand our workforce.
Safety above all
We’ve had a strong focus on improving the working environment, indoor climate and safety at the new logistics center. Right now, we are testing a system that locks the truck to the ramp, which should minimize the risk of accidents.
- We have a responsibility to ensure that our employees can feel safe when they are at work, therefore safety is an important factor, both when it comes to already installed solutions but also that we continue to make tests and see possible improvements, says Per Buus.
